identification test
positive for citrate test (IT-13) and iron salt test (IT-19).
content analysis
accurately weigh about 1g of the sample, move it into a glass plug flask at the grinding port, add 5ml of hydrochloric acid and 25ml of water, heat and dissolve it, add 4g of potassium iodide after cooling, place it in a dark chamber for 15min after plucking, add 100ml of water, titrate free iodine with 0.1mol/L, sodium thiosulfate solution, and use starch test solution (TS-235) as indicator. At the same time, a blank test was conducted. 0.1mol/L sodium thiosulfate solution per Ml is equivalent to 5.585mgFe.
Toxicity
dogs were fed orally at an amount of 1~2mg/kg, and symptoms of poisoning occurred, while 10mg/kg died. Subcutaneous injection of iron can occur
use limited
GB 14880-94(mg/kg): cereals and their products, 150~290; Beverage 60~120; Dairy products, infant formula food, 360~600; Salt, sandwich sugar, 3600~7200.
use
1. As a food iron fortifier, the absorption effect is better than inorganic iron. China stipulates that it can be used for salt and sandwich sugar, and the usage amount is 3600~7200 mg/kg; 1000~1200 mg/kg in high-iron cereals and their products (50g of such foods are limited daily); 360~600 mg/kg in dairy products and infant food; 150~290 mg/kg in cereals and their products; 60~120 mg/kg in beverages.

3. As a food additive, it is added to biscuits, milk powder and flour, as an iron nutrition fortifier, and also as a feed additive. Iron citrate is also used as a medicine, as a photosensitive paper for blueprints, etc.
production method
1. add ammonia water to ferric sulfate solution to generate ferric hydroxide precipitation. Filter and wash with water until there is no sulfuric acid reaction. Add citric acid, heat to below 60°C under stirring, dissolve all the precipitate, and filter. The filtrate is heated and concentrated into a syrup shape below 60°C, and coated on a glass plate into a thin layer to form small leaves, peeled off, warmed, and dried.
2. Add ammonia water to the ferric sulfate solution to generate ferric hydroxide precipitate; then filter, wash with water until there is no sulfuric acid reaction, then add citric acid, and heat to 60 ℃ to dissolve all the precipitate; finally filter, Concentrate the filtrate to the form of syrup, coat it on a glass plate, and peel it off to form a small flake product after slight temperature drying.
3. add citric acid to iron hydroxide solution, heat at a temperature lower than 60 ℃, evaporate to slurry, apply to glass plate, dry at low temperature to form small flakes, and peel them off.
